12 Days of Anime: Sakeru Gummy (Day 4)

Welcome to day 4 of the 12 Days of Anime and today I will be doing something a bit different. Japan is known for a lot of things. Karaoke, Samurai, Anime, sushi and a ton of other things but aside from all of that they have some interesting commercials. I have to thank Alice for this one but a while back she sent me a YouTube compilation video for Sakeru Gummy. But before I dive into it, check out the video below.

This compilation video was hilarious. And while it was totally ridiculous, there was an actual story. An 11 commercial segment strung together to sell candy, I’ve never seen anything this elaborate. Sakeru really went the extra mile.
One of the best things about these commercials is the twist at the end. Chi Chan got curved after setting herself up for failure. To be honest, I don’t even feel bad for her. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side and she learned that the hard way.

While attending Anime NYC, a few weeks back one of the vendors was selling this magical candy. I was quite sure what type of candy it would really be. Though it was chewing gum the entire time it turned out too gummy. To my surprise, it tasted pretty damn good.
