ANIME NYC Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt Event

The Gundam Thunderbolt panel was an amazing panel. Not only did we get to view the first U.S. release of the movie but, also their was a mini concert with the band that performed the music from the anime soundtrack. The anime was based on the animated series Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. The series was very short. The movie is a continuation of the animated series called Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky, which continues the story of series after the One Year War.

The story takes place several months later after the One Year War, many Zeon soldiers were attempting to restore the Principality of Zeon. Daryl Lorenz a Zeon soldier went to Earth to gather intelligence with other Zeon members after losing his Psycho Zaku. He and a crew of Zeon soldiers went on a mission to recover one of their undercover spys. In the other hand, Io Fleming, Jazz music enthusiast, began test piloting the latest Gundam model the Atlas Gundam. He was sent to Earth by the Earth Federation to stop the Zeon soldiers and their mission.

After the film we had a mini concert held by Naruyoshi Kikuchi and his band. The concert was nice listing to Jazz music. The female vocalists were the best part of the entire concert. Their vocals were amazing. I did not like the beginning when they began playing because of the acoustics of the room but, the music got really better. The concert was overall really good and I really enjoyed it. I was able to get an autograph soundtrack from the entire band. If you really love Mobile Suit Gundam this is a really good anime to watch but my only compliant was that the anime series was to short.
