#31DaysofWomeninMedia: Day 24

Source: CAPCOM Wikia

Resident Evil is one of my favorite game franchises’ of all time. Gaming is a topic that I don’t talk much about via our blog. I plan to do more in the future.  I though this would be a good opportunity to do so.  My choice for today is a bit of a throwback but honest all the same.

My choice for Day 24. is Claire Redfield from the Resident Evil.

Resident Evil has quite a few notable female characters by Ms. Redfield is by far my favorite.  One reason being,  Resident Evil 2 was my introduction to the game but also that she was am anomaly.  Claire was a civilian thrust-ed into the storyline via the Raccoon City route because she was in search of  her brother Chris, who was a member of S.T.A.R.S at the time.

After escaping Raccoon City, she continued, relentlessly in  her search of her brother. After finally being reunited with him after sever bumps. She ops out of fighting to take in a role as a healer (Scientist) working with TerraSave. While I preferred the kick ass Claire but I can always understand wanting to fight in  a different way.   Had I been in her shoes, after everything she went through, I would have most likely done the same thing given the options.

So for being relentless in your search, kicking ass and keeping your eyes on the prize in the long run.  Claire, this goes to you.

Also, a very special shout out to Jill Valentine and Ada Wong because they also deserve this.

As per usual, join the conversation: Do you think Claire Redfield is worthy of her nomination? Who are some Women in Media that you think should receive a nomination? Leave your comments in the section below.
