Over the weekend of AnimeNEXT popular Japanese fashion designer MINT hosted a fashion show for his clothing brand, MINT NeKO and it was a great show. The fashion line incorporates cat graphics and being the crazy cat lady that I am I was so excited to see these pieces. MINT also had a booth in the dealers’ room selling some of the clothing from the fashion show and a pretty good turn out for the fashion show since a few of people I’ve talked to waiting in line didn’t know much about MINT NeKO and this show was their first interaction with the brand. This was the first fashion show I’ve ever attended so I went in with an open mind accepting anything thrown at me and I came out of the show very proud of MINT for being able to showcase this line he has worked so hard on and for this line to be a success when I later found out he opened his flagship store in Tokyo last year.
Just a quick backstory of the fashion designer MINT, he trained at Bunka Fashion College after graduating MINT started working as an assistant designer for famous Japanese designer h.NAOTO before branching off to make his debut as a designer for the Sixh brand in 2006. U the drummer from ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D was a special guest model for this fashion show and the drummer for ALL OFF’s AnimeNEXT performance. U contributed to some of the biggest rock songs coming out of Japan, he’s worked on songs that were featured in Bleach, Blue Exorcist, Durarara!! and Yowamushi Pedal. MINT seems to be a artist that needs to be on everyones watchlist, I’m looking forward to more work from MINT NeKO as a geniune new fan I’m going to keep up with MINT and any future projects.
Stay updated on MINT and his fashion line MINT Neko.
