Meet Wolfgang a.k.a Wolfie, he had big dreams of being an astronaut. He hits the books and excels in school. Graduates College at the top of your class.  Young, bright-eyed, and excited to take on your next adventure.  As fate would have it, yay! Welcome to your new soul-sucking desk job! With a slave-driving boss who is as equally cruel as they are ambitious. Cheers to your new life. Well, at least there’s free pizza.

How do you play?

Play as a savvy entrepreneur who thrives to make all the money. Hire low-level animal staffers to run office operations. And at the end of the month try not to be in the negative. As the game progresses, you can hire a middle manager or HR personnel to run the company for you. This sounds simple enough but time flies fast. Workers come at an upfront cost and then get paid every 30 seconds. Pizza is expensive and comes out of your pocket too.  Firing Staff is also highly recommended.

First Impressions of CapitalismCraft

The music was good! The sound design as well.  The art style is cute and adds to the whole aesthetic of the game. Societal conformity in the mundaneness of an office setting. Moreover, an office with terrible working conditions.  Sprinkle in a splash of dread,  you get the magical kingdom of Capitalism. The introduction cinematic (video) also helped too because I am a sucker for animation and Wolfie’s story is just so relatable.  Since we were on the topic of appearance, The GUI was clean and easy to follow. Also appreciated the in-game hints they were so helpful.

CapitalismCraft Dev Tips

  1. Only Hire workers at the beginning of the month.
  2. Firing workers shortly after you hire them to cut costs.
  3. Fire a Mid-level manager for every four employees
  4. Clipping tired workers is recommended.
  5. Be Bold with your decision

After failing over and over again, I came up with a little system of my own. I opted to line up all my workers one after another. So that when it was time for me to give them directions I was able to easily go from one side to the other.  Added new works at the end of the light and placed the mid-manager nearby.  This was such a game-changer.  I had so much fun with this game.

It’s addictive. Even when you fail you wanna keep trying. Throwing yourself back into the mix.  Over and over again.  Incrementally doing better each time, ideally anyways.  I think that’s the beauty of this game.  It’s designed for you to fail. Like Capitalism the house always wins.

If you’re looking for a challenge. I would highly recommend checking out CapitalismCraft The full game is set for a January 2025 release at a 4.99 price point. Supported by both MAC and PC but in the meantime, you can check out the demo So give it a go and if you like it, add it to your wishlist and tell them Soulcial Dreamin’ Ent sent you.

Very special shout-out to Most Dangerous Games for the opportunity. We’ll catch you on the next one.
