This weekend we will be attending J1-Con in Atlantic City, New Jersey. J1-Con is an Anime and Gaming Expo which includes a Music Festival and other entertainment. This will be our first time attending J1-Con and we’ll be there all three days, if you are planning on attending let us know.
Liberty City Anime Convenion was last weekend and we had the opportunity to do press coverage for the con and it was fun. There was a few places the event was lacking but nothing they can’t improve next time around. We were already prepared to take on the workload and get into crunch mode to push everything out as fast as we can.
This week will be posts for our press coverage of LCAC 2018 and we’re pushing out videos on our YouTube pretty soon and we’re trying to make more content on short notice but our quality is important so that is what’s always holding us back. We have to make time for what we want and we want to be active on YouTube and with all the hard work it takes to stay up with a YouTube Channel we’ve been trying and failing but we’ll keep trying until we get into our groove.
One thing we all need to rememeber is that failures come before success and as we’ve been trying to create a viable media company that can thrive in this and future economy. It’s more work we’ve been prepared for because we know how much goes into starting a business and building a company and brand. We have so much going on that it’s overwhelming and exciting at the same time to be so busy yet so frustrating since our outcome is moving slower than we want. We worked hard for this to even think about giving it up and I hope that gave you a little inspiration to keep pushing through and find that motivation and time to create your dreams and live the best life you can.
Week 10 Spotify Playlist
This week we have another playlist full of our faves and it’s one hell of a mix from K-pop to Hip-Hop. Enjoy 🙂
This weekend in NYC Liberty City Anime Convention will be taking place in Times Square and it will be jammed packed with tourists, new yorkers, and my personal favorite cosplayers. As we set into the weekend this week we have posts lined up for our press coverage of LCAC. The team has been preparing and working hard deciding on what to cover and the heat and possible thunderstorms happening this weekend. LCAC will be held in the Marriott Marquis Times Square same hotel as last year and I’m going to assume the main events will be held in the Edison Ballroom as last year since everything worked out perfectly space wise.
This week will be a little eventful for us before our next con adventure hits and we’ll be going to see The Lox and Young MA in concert in Coney Island. It’s a free concert sponsored by City Parks Foundation. There is a series of free events City Park Foundation does every summer in New York and each year it gets better and more creative with some of the events and concerts. This is how we saw Janelle Monae in concert and many others.
Another Soulcial Sunday another Bi-weekly playlist! This week has been a bit slow for us as we rest up and prepare for the upcoming cons we will be visiting and content we’re trying to put out. We’ve been trying to be more active with our YouTube channel and create a workflow that will work for us but it’s a bit of an issue with our busy schedules so we will figure that out so there will a visual aspect of SDE.
These past two weeks have been a real one for us pumping out everything as fast as we can and having to work our 9 to 5 and I’m happy we’ve got almost everything out. There’s still more content needed to be edited and published which we’ll get to finish all this week. We’ve been prepping for other cons we want to hit throughout the year and the next one we hope to hit is Women In Comics Con on June 30th at The Brooklyn Public Library on Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, NY. We went to one of the WINC events when it was held in Harlem and we had fun and spent money on merchandise created by people of color. If you’re interested the tickets are free and it’s always something to do at this convention between panels and meeting people. Continue reading
This is the last day of AnimeNEXT and it’s really been a blast we have so much content to push out that we hope you guys think about coming out to Atlantic City for next year’s AnimeNEXT. This weekend has been a never-ending fun filled con full of cosplayers, events, and games. I’ve said this before there is so much space the elbow room is so amazing and AnimeNEXT always has something going on so finding things to do is an easy part but this year felt like there were so many choices that picking where to go will be the hardest part.
This past weekend we visited Castle Point Anime Convention for the first time in years and they have really come a long way from being on a college campus to an expo center. We posted what we had on out Instagram and other social media accounts so check it out. In a week we’ll be at AnimeNEXT and we’re super excited it was so much fun last year so we have high expectations for this year. I believe the most exciting thing about this con is all the events happening and all the elbow room that The Atlantic City Convention Center offers is what other cons dream of!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the good mothers out there handling their business doing what mothers do. None of us are mothers but we see how hard mothers work to provide for their family and make sure everything is done. Motherhood is a thankless job that sometimes goes unnoticed but I want every mother knows you’re are appreciated every day.
Here’s a little laugh from our IG paying homage to Outkast for this oldie but goodie.
Happy Mother’s Day from the SDE team to you and yours.
It’s been a little while since we’ve written a Soulcial Sunday post and I have to say that this year has been pretty busy. 2018 started out on a good note and we want to keep up the momentum continuing to make this year better than last. We’re working hard on new content that we are trying to get out and with Convention Season about to come in full swing we’ll be busier than ever between working on content and going to these events.
