I’m late with it but I’ve seen the announcement and still didn’t take 5 mins to watch the trailer. I’ve been looking forward to seeing if DC would redeem the DCU movies. The way I feel about DCU movies is a whole other topic but I’m looking forward to Aquaman because of Jason Momoa.
This man has embodied Aquaman since taking on this role in the Batman v Superman movie. I like Jason Momoa as a person too so I’m really rooting for this movie to be great.
This has been so long overdue that we’ve literally waited 14 years for part 2 to come out and it was worth the wait. Now before I get into this if you plan on seeing the movie anytime soon, if you have a history of epilepsy or light-induced seizures be aware that this movie does have a few scenes that have intense strobe lights and for minutes at a time. I wasn’t aware of this and I don’t have a history of epilepsy or light-induced seizures but I am prone to getting really bad migraines when exposed to intense flashing lights.
The Rock has yet another action blockbuster under his belt and it’s a movie about characters from one of our favorite childhood video game Rampage. I got the chance to see a advance screening of the movie earlier this week with Alice and have to say it was a short movie but the action picked up quicker than I thought. Although I have some mixed feelings about the movie not giving the other characters from the game more screentime I did enjoy the movie because of the characters and their witty banter with eachother.
With all the excitement surrounding Black Panther which is debuting in theaters this weekend, it feels like we’ve been waiting forever for a black superhero movie. Now that it’s finally happening especially during black history month I don’t know if next year can top it. Black people as a whole have been lighting up social media about Black Panther since his MCU appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Twitter has started a storm and were all here for it, This is the week the hashtag #BlackPantherweek and #BlackPanthersolit is really active and people are out here living their best life waiting for the weekend. Finally, we get to see another black superhero come off the pages. Black Lighting is the latest DC superhero to bless the TV waves, even though there has been little to no promo of the premiere of this show on The CW the internet will not let you forget that there’s another black superhero we need to support. I haven’t seen much of any promo for this series until about last week on my way home I noticed a Subway advertisement finally showing Black Lighting. If you’re new to Black Lighting don’t feel bad about it because I discovered Black Lightning about 3 years ago while looking for more black superheroes, I’m happy to see this character come to life because when I found him I then started reading up on comics he appeared in and started falling in love with the backstory since it’s really relatable to the average city life minus the superpowers.
I wanted to start this off by saying if you look at reviews before going to a movie don’t look at Jumanji’s reviews because all their going to do is compare it to the original movie and that’s not fair for this remake. This movie is the reimagined Jumanji as a video game console which is what as gamers we flock to consoles, no one plays board games anymore.
The live action of Fullmetal Alchemists made it’s US debut at Anime NYC and you had to purchase $10 tickets to see it and I must say I really liked the movie, it all was just a summary of everything that happens in FullMetal Alchemist with a twist. The movie will officially be released on December 1st, 2017. The wonderful thing about this movie is that the ENTIREcast is Japanese and it was amazing to actually see it play out this way, I honestly wouldn’t want to see a Hollywood adaptions because this was just perfect as is.
Movie Synopsis: Jonathan Shannon (Ryan Phillippe) gives his 17-year-old daughter Clare (Joey King) an old music box that promises to grant its owner seven wishes. Skeptical at first, Clare becomes seduced by its dark powers when her life starts to radically improve with each wish. Everything seems perfect until she realizes that every wish she makes causes the people who are closest to her to die in violent and elaborate ways.
Finally the Wonder Woman came out this past weekend I wrote past posts about the trailers Here that was released at SDCC and when the first rumors of the WW movie will actually go into production and that post is Here. I’ve been waiting for this movie because the past movies that DC has put out to start off the DC Universe were really bad and as a DC fangirl I really want them to take home a win and I’m happy they went all out for WW. DC did a great job with WW and I’m happy to say that if they continue down this path we might have some really good DC movies to look forward to.
