Arian Foster is a former Texan Football Player that pursued his love for music. Arian retired from Football in 2016 after suffering a lower-body injury. I first ran across Arian when he was promoting his new album under his stage name Bobby Feeno. His appearance on Desus & Mero (The Brand is Brolic!) Show on Viceland was the start of it all.Continue reading
This soundtrack that accompanied the now award-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. I got the chance to watch the movie in December with Lizzo. The movie itself was a great experience that I went and saw it again. Sony really knocked this project out the park. The movie and soundtrack go hand in hand especially after meeting Miles Morales you can see him listening to this whole album.Continue reading
Happy New Year! I hope all is well. For my first post of 2019, I wanted to start things off on a good note. And what better way to do so then to show love to some rising stars. One of my goals for us as SDE is to grow our network of creatives even further this year. On that note, here is a list of Ladies in Hip Hop that should to be on your radar.
This is Jay Park’s long-awaited Roc Nation Debut EP and I have to say it’s better than I thought it would be. I’m actually surprised I like every song on this EP which isn’t something that happens often enough with albums I listen to. Jay Park really brought his A+++ game with this project from the beats to the features this EP is a great way to introduce new people to Jay Park and expand his fan base further.
KickFlamez is a Rapper, videographer and visionary from Huntsville Alabama. Alike many of the artist I’ve spotlighted via this platform, he is a contemporary nerd core artist. The influence of Anime, Gaming and other nerd related topics are prevalent in his artistry. Not just musically but it’s represented visually as well.
Flamez and I, talk often and usually when he drops something major he asks me for feedback. Instead of just telling him out right what I think. He’ll have read this time and find out for himself.
We’ve been blessed again with another gift and that is The Black Panther Album. The album had high anticipation since it was announced that Kendrick Lamar was producing it with Anthony Tiffith. I have to say this album really did meet expectations after listening to it a few times. With the growing momentum around the Black Panther movie, I’m pretty sure there is going to be negative reactions towards this album because of the artists on the album but overall it turned out better than I expected it to. The album has great replay value and introduced me to a few new artists I’ve never heard before. Continue reading
Happy New Year!
Last year, I compiled a list of my favorite K-Pop (Korean Pop) songs from that year. This year, I decided to do something little bit different, and focus on the little guy. Seeing how this is my first post of the New Year, I wanted to make it count. So it was very important that it felt authentic. These songs were all chosen based on feeling. And how often I went back to play then after my initial excitement was gone.
Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan. FrivolousShara is Femcee and producer (composer) to look out for. As of late, she’s been cranking out a ton of music and out of all the new songs, Dandelion Magic for me stood at the forefront. Continue reading
Alan Z is an artist that has popped up on our feed a few times. With his smooth vocals and solid rapping skills, I can’t help but show love. On October 7th, The Fresh Prince of ATL celebrated the release of his EP “First Time’s The Charm”. And in true Hip Hop Fashion, he and his friends set off the celebration with a Cypher.
