The Rock has yet another action blockbuster under his belt and it’s a movie about characters from one of our favorite childhood video game Rampage. I got the chance to see a advance screening of the movie earlier this week with Alice and have to say it was a short movie but the action picked up quicker than I thought. Although I have some mixed feelings about the movie not giving the other characters from the game more screentime I did enjoy the movie because of the characters and their witty banter with eachother.
The one and only Danai Gurira play as Okoye in Black Panther, This will be about Okoye as much as possible because of the love I have for the character before the movie. Danai’s performance was so amazing bringing Okoye to life that at this point I don’t think I’ll ever become tired of seeing her beautiful face everywhere. Continue reading
For my third women who inspires me everyone knows her as the woman with the red hair Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail. Ezra is one of the bravest and strongest women of her guild a noteworthy character. Ezra is an S-Class mage and the most powerful woman with no one yet to match her not even a clone of herself. She is part of Team Natsu. Her special ability is reequipped magic. She changes her armor and each armor gives her a different ability for example speed or lighting magic. Continue reading
With all the excitement surrounding Black Panther which is debuting in theaters this weekend, it feels like we’ve been waiting forever for a black superhero movie. Now that it’s finally happening especially during black history month I don’t know if next year can top it. Black people as a whole have been lighting up social media about Black Panther since his MCU appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Twitter has started a storm and were all here for it, This is the week the hashtag #BlackPantherweek and #BlackPanthersolit is really active and people are out here living their best life waiting for the weekend. We’ve been blessed again with another gift and that is The Black Panther Album. The album had high anticipation since it was announced that Kendrick Lamar was producing it with Anthony Tiffith. I have to say this album really did meet expectations after listening to it a few times. With the growing momentum around the Black Panther movie, I’m pretty sure there is going to be negative reactions towards this album because of the artists on the album but overall it turned out better than I expected it to. The album has great replay value and introduced me to a few new artists I’ve never heard before. Continue reading
Finally, we get to see another black superhero come off the pages. Black Lighting is the latest DC superhero to bless the TV waves, even though there has been little to no promo of the premiere of this show on The CW the internet will not let you forget that there’s another black superhero we need to support. I haven’t seen much of any promo for this series until about last week on my way home I noticed a Subway advertisement finally showing Black Lighting. If you’re new to Black Lighting don’t feel bad about it because I discovered Black Lightning about 3 years ago while looking for more black superheroes, I’m happy to see this character come to life because when I found him I then started reading up on comics he appeared in and started falling in love with the backstory since it’s really relatable to the average city life minus the superpowers.
I wanted to start this off by saying if you look at reviews before going to a movie don’t look at Jumanji’s reviews because all their going to do is compare it to the original movie and that’s not fair for this remake. This movie is the reimagined Jumanji as a video game console which is what as gamers we flock to consoles, no one plays board games anymore.
