Now Arriving in Wakanda

With all the excitement surrounding Black Panther which is debuting in theaters this weekend, it feels like we’ve been waiting forever for a black superhero movie. Now that it’s finally happening especially during black history month I don’t know if next year can top it. Black people as a whole have been lighting up social media about Black Panther since his MCU appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Twitter has started a storm and were all here for it, This is the week the hashtag #BlackPantherweek and #BlackPanthersolit is really active and people are out here living their best life waiting for the weekend. Black Panther: The Album

We’ve been blessed again with another gift and that is The Black Panther Album. The album had high anticipation since it was announced that Kendrick Lamar was producing it with Anthony Tiffith. I have to say this album really did meet expectations after listening to it a few times. With the growing momentum around the Black Panther movie, I’m pretty sure there is going to be negative reactions towards this album because of the artists on the album but overall it turned out better than I expected it to. The album has great replay value and introduced me to a few new artists I’ve never heard before. Continue reading

The CW Premiere of Black Lighting

Finally, we get to see another black superhero come off the pages. Black Lighting is the latest DC superhero to bless the TV waves, even though there has been little to no promo of the premiere of this show on The CW the internet will not let you forget that there’s another black superhero we need to support. I haven’t seen much of any promo for this series until about last week on my way home I noticed a Subway advertisement finally showing Black Lighting. If you’re new to Black Lighting don’t feel bad about it because I discovered Black Lightning about 3 years ago while looking for more black superheroes, I’m happy to see this character come to life because when I found him I then started reading up on comics he appeared in and started falling in love with the backstory since it’s really relatable to the average city life minus the superpowers.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Image result for jumanji 2017

I wanted to start this off by saying if you look at reviews before going to a movie don’t look at Jumanji’s reviews because all their going to do is compare it to the original movie and that’s not fair for this remake. This movie is the reimagined Jumanji as a video game console which is what as gamers we flock to consoles, no one plays board games anymore.

Fullmetal Alchemist Live Action Premiere – Anime NYC 2017

Image result

The live action of Fullmetal Alchemists made it’s US debut at Anime NYC and you had to purchase $10 tickets to see it and I must say I really liked the movie, it all was just a summary of everything that happens in FullMetal Alchemist with a twist. The movie will officially be released on December 1st, 2017. The wonderful thing about this movie is that the ENTIRE cast is Japanese and it was amazing to actually see it play out this way, I honestly wouldn’t want to see a Hollywood adaptions because this was just perfect as is.

Girl Power!! If you’re interested in watching an anime about a girl kicking ass, this is for you. Hinako is a pretty Yankee- no other way to put it. She really does fight like a man, her skills are undeniable. She is like the female Bruce Lee. I admire her strength,  determination and willingness to prove that she is strong.

Is Gohan Trash or Nah?

Gohan

I use to love Gohan. He was my favorite character from the franchise only coming second to Future Trunks. But I felt connected to Gohan because we sort of grew up together. Then enter the Saiyanman arch, this was something I struggled to accept. Low-key hurt my feelings. LOL  But I digress.

#30DayAnimeChallenge: Day 11

Day 11: Favorite Mech Anime

My all time favorite Mech Anime is Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. This was not a hard choice for me. I was in love with Duo and Heero. I loved thier gundam suits as well. Heero had the wing Gundam and Duo had the Death Sycthe. I could watch this anime a hundred times and never get bored. My favorite seen was the frist episode when Relena had asked Heero to go to her party because she tought she was cool and he shut her down. I WAS SO HYPE. He ripped the invitation in her face. As many times she would stalk him he would shoot her down sometimes literally. Duo was so cool and relaxed. Duo always played the peacemaker. He was so cute.
