I love Asta and his drive to be the best. You cant help but to root for Asta. There is plenty of action and comedy in the show. Watching Asta and Yuno makes you believe that you can become anything you want to be with hard work. Continue reading

The Ancient Magus Bride

This is so far my favorite anime of the year. This anime made me cry and smile at the same time. I feel so emotional for the main character, Chise Hatori. This anime will always keep your emotions in check. This is a great love story, if you haven’t been watching it already.

Knight’s & Magic

Imagine you died and was reborn living out your Otaku fantasy building giant robots and had magic powers well in this anime it happened. The story is every Mecha Otaku’s dream which is to build your own Mecha. Knight’s & Magic is a funny and ironic anime series. I am a huge Mecha fan so this anime really stood out to me because it was a combination of all my favorite genre’s in one. I was curious on how the anime incorporate magic with Mecha.  The Mecha’s in this anime share a similarity to the same one in the Gundam series which I loved. The anime series is a fun show to watch. The main character Ernesti is not only cute and adorable but, a major Mecha Otaku in the inside. He is only one true love is the robots not the girls who throw themselves at him.

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc

I remember sitting in a horror anime panel and watching clips from Berserk: The Golden Age Arc. I wanted to see how truly horrifying Berserk the anime was.  After watching this anime, I can clearly say this is not designed for children and it should be rated Mature. This is Not Safe For Work. If you choose to watch these films, do not watch around people or in a public setting.

Anime of the 1980’s – The Year 1987: Panel

Image result for anime of the 1980sI went to a panel at Liberty City Anime Convention, where they discussed anime series from the 1980’s. I thought that this was going to be an interesting panel and it was. The panelist, John Medero, mainly talked about series from the year 1987 which was a big year in anime history.  Some really great series came out that year but, he also discussed other popular anime series from the late and early 1980’s and where are they now 30 years later. It made me think of how anime has changed over the years.

Professor ShyGuy

Professor Shyguy is well known for his 8 bit- music, soulful, electro-rocking, theatrical nerd pop music. Most of his songs stem from video games, anime, and time and space. I missed the concert last year and was able to see his performance this year. I came in thier not knowing what type of music I was going to listen to. I thought it was another rock concert but I was wrong. Professor Shyguy really surprised me, he was really good.

The History of Anime Opening/Closing Themes Panel

Over the years the anime opening and closing theme songs have changed. When I heard some of the songs, I had a complete flashback to my childhood. Some series changed their lyrics completely and others used a translated version of the song.

Soulcial Dreamin’ Entertainment was invited to attend Liberty City Anime Convention in New York at the Marriott Marquis hotel.  The hosting space was so much bigger this year compared to last. This year the convention had plenty of panels, video games, voice actors, concerts and anime screenings. We were able to get an insider’s view of the convention while having a great time.
