I’ve been getting back into reading comics. With so many diverse stories and character coming out, there no better time then now to do so. In honor of Black History Month, here are four comics by Black creatives that are worth checking out.
This will be our first time attending J1-Con and I’m looking forward to quite a few things. One being the Blackfinity Gauntlet which is a podcasting summit. The Music Festival and Gaming Tournament.
As some of you may know, this past weekend, we attended AnimeNext, which is an Anime Convention held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I would like to thank the wonderful staff at AnimeNext for allowing us to attend and for all the hard work they put into making this con a reality. None of this would be possible without you guys and gal. Now that we’ve gotten all the pleasantries out-of-the-way, let’s get down to business.
The Marvel Universe date as far back as the 1939. And over the years, many of our favorite character stories have been expounded on.,reiterate and also revamped. With that being said., my next nomination goes to Riri Williams, a.k.a Iron Heart.
In the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to interview some pretty amazing people. I normally, provide a little anecdotal story detailing our introduction. While I can’t recall our initial encounter, I know it was definitely via YouTube. Out of all the interviews, I’ve done, this hands down feels the most personal. This is someone I’ve admired. This is someone I’ve learned from. This is someone who’s looked out for me wanting nothing in return. This is someone I consider a friend.
Nerds and Nerdettes, Meet Michelle Simon aka Sang Frais
I saw a few write up’s on this a few months ago. I was hyped. This was something I was waiting on for a while. And now that it’s official. A cast photo has been released, proof that this is really going down.
If you haven’t noticed by now, I am a fan of Marvel Comics. And this Cloak & Dagger series looks like it’s going to be pretty good. While I’m not familiar with their backstory, It’s a duo, I’ve heard be bounce around fairly often.
New York Comic Con was lite. The team and I had a phenomenal time. Saw a former Co-worker/friend. Bump into a few other acquaintances. And even brought my baby cousin along for his first convention. The little guy fell asleep when we sat down to eat lunch on Sunday. Hysterical. He’s not built for the blerd life. But let’s get right into it.
