My favorite superhero is the one and only Hawkgirl. I was first introduced to Hawkgirl in Justice League animated series. I adore her, because of her strong personality and confidence. The way she was portrayed on this animated show made me look into the comics she was featured in. Looking for Hawkgirl features in comics started my love for comics and it made me start reading them more often.
This a continuation of yesterday’s post 12 Days of Anime: Netflix’s Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters. Godzilla: City on The Edge of Battle is part 2 of the series and it was so crazy that I really hope a part 3 comes out next year. I hate cliffhangers and this series really does have a great edge of your seat action then leaves a cliffhanger. Part 3 is going to be even bigger than this movie if Ghidorah shows up.
Last year I saw Netflix put up yet another original anime in my anime suggestions. I love a good Godzilla movie so when I saw this I had to watch it and see how humans will survive this Godzilla. This is part 1 of the series and it was a great movie. It was a new way I saw the world when Godzilla arrives. The art style is very beautiful and to see Godzilla come to life it’s amazing how everything looks.

Beauty Pop is one of my favorite manga to reread each year because I can never get tired of this story. I wasn’t a really big fan of shoujo manga but Beauty Pop definitely changed that for me. I love a good shoujo manga with a strong female character that doesn’t just fall head over heels over the first guy that talks to her. These storylines are quite hard to find but I have a few on my bookcase.

Isn’t the Masquerade everyone’s favorite part of an Anime Convention? It’s where cosplayer’s get to showcase what they poured their hard work and dedication into. Whether be through sewing, knitting, molding and other forms of crafting, I am excited to see it. I also love to see the skits prepared for these events, they are usually- always the funniest way to see some of our favorite characters portrayed.
This year the contestants did not disappoint.
The past few years a lot of conventions we’ve been to have been very inclusive when it came to LGBT representation. HIDIVE hosted this panel, one of many on Friday night at Anime NYC. If you’re unfamiliar with HIDIVE it’s a streaming service for anime and they have been sponsors at a few of the conventions I’ve been to this past year. You can catch Simulcasts, dubs and much more on HIDIVE there is a 7-day free trial if you’re interested in checking out the anime they stream. Continue reading
