We’ve made it another year! This year has been one of our best years with all the content we were able to get out and all the adventures we had at every convention we were able to attend thru out the year. Our year was full of fun, hard work and we’re happy to welcome a new year with all of you.
Fabolous has always been one of my favorite rappers since he appeared on my radar in the early 2000’s. His witty and charismatic rhymes provided an entertaining listening experience. And while, this particular post isn’t about his music but how can we really pay proper homage without at least acknowledging the artistry. Fab is also known for his fashion sense. Each fit has its own flair and story to go with it. While I am not the most fashion conscious person, this is exactly why we’re here. To talk about nerdy influenced fashion and why Fab is Hip Hop’s Greatest Cosplayer.
Soulcial Dreamin’ Entertainment attended New York City Comic Convention in New York at the Jacob K. Javits Center. This year the convention site was much smaller than usual and it usually entails the entire center but due to it being under repair so space was cut short. Anyone who wished to attend this year had to purchase individual day passes which can be expensive if you planned to go all four days. They were not selling weekend passes this year so the convention activities were extended to other sites, Madison Square Garden, Hammerstein Ballroom, Hudson Mercantile, and the New York Public Library.
Soulcial Dreamin’ Entertainment was invited to attend Liberty City Anime Convention in New York at the Marriott Marquis hotel. The hosting space was so much bigger this year compared to last. They even extended it to another site, the Edison Ballroom, where the main events (Masquerade) and the concerts were held. At night they hosted anime dance parties headed by Rabbit Revolution. This year the convention had plenty of panels, video games, voice actors, concerts and anime screenings. We were able to get an insider’s view of the convention while having a great time.
Hey, what’s good everyone? It’s been a little over a month since we attended Anime Next. Between the three of us, we pushed out a ton content via our website and our other Social media outlets. Videos, pictures and other exclusive releases. (via Twitter and Instagram) So if you aren’t following us, do so because you are missing out. The grind was non-stop that weekend. But it’s Story Time.
As some of you may know, our team attended AnimeNext in Atlantic City, New Jersey early this month. One of our favorite events to attend when going to any anime convention is the Masquerade. All the contestant did a phenomenal job and we captured some of out favorites and posted them via our YouTube. I posted the videos below. So check them out and let us know what you think. Also, don’t forget to check out our photography gallery.
Have a great weekend
What’s good people? Happy Friday. We have a few things that I would like to cover.
So let’s get to it.
Firstly, on Sunday we will be attending New York City Short Anime & Animation Film Festival. Shoutout to Anime Girls NYC for bringing this event to our attention.
Secondly, we will be attending our first convention of the year. Anime Next which is held in Atlantic City New Jersey. AN is a convention we attended in the past, this will be out first time back in three years or so. We’re definitely looking forward to it. So be on the lookout for related content int the coming weeks.
If there is anything you would like to see covered or are curious about. Feel free to let us know.
Thirdly, in January of this year, we relaunched our YouTube channel. They say third times the charm, We pulling a lot of energy into it make sure that’s the case. Our channel is essential the visual aspect of the content you can find on our blog. Interviews, Convention Vlog, live performances and recently started uploading gameplay.
We decided to give recorded gameplay an option. This is out test run with Visual Novel/Dating Sim Ghosts of Miami. Which was a game brought to my attention by a blogger I follow. The video is one of two parts and features voice over by Lizzo.
The Asterplace is anime rock band hailing from Japan but based in New York City. This is a performance of their song My Raining Flower. Dope Track.
Last summer, we attended Liberty Anime Convention. We documented the experience via blog but we wanted to visually document out footsteps as well. Check it out and let me know what you think.

New York Comic Con was lite. The team and I had a phenomenal time. Saw a former Co-worker/friend. Bump into a few other acquaintances. And even brought my baby cousin along for his first convention. The little guy fell asleep when we sat down to eat lunch on Sunday. Hysterical. He’s not built for the blerd life. But let’s get right into it.
