The past few years a lot of conventions we’ve been to have been very inclusive when it came to LGBT representation. HIDIVE hosted this panel, one of many on Friday night at Anime NYC. If you’re unfamiliar with HIDIVE it’s a streaming service for anime and they have been sponsors at a few of the conventions I’ve been to this past year. You can catch Simulcasts, dubs and much more on HIDIVE there is a 7-day free trial if you’re interested in checking out the anime they stream. Continue reading
I was able to get into the FullMetal Alchemist Special Event Panel at Anime NYC and relive some of my favorite moments from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Full Metal Alchemist. The panel featured special guest Vic Mignogna, the voice of Edward Elric in both English versions. It was an interesting panel to sit in. Members of the audience gave their opinion on survey questions that were asked to attendee’s of convention. A lot of the questions asked were very interesting and to see other people’s response’s was interesting as well. Continue reading
This weekend November 17 – 19 is Anime NYC the return of an NYC anime convention after so many years of being “fused” with New York Comic Con. Anime NYC is funded by so many amazing sponsors that we all know because they bring us some of our favorite anime shows and manga, it’s so much anticipation building up for anime NYC that it literally has to give us it’s best A+ game just for the comeback.
Anime NYC has a lot of activities going on and not enough time to enjoy all of it so like every convention I hope you guys get a chance to check out the schedule on the website so you can plan what you want to do early so it’s worth the money and time. Just like any convention, you will gravitate to something that you’ll see on the schedule and probably stay in one spot majority of the day. There are more activities outside of the schedule.
We are working on a lot of posts centered around anime NYC since we’re so excited to see an anime convention come back to New York City. We will spotlight a few of the guests were hoping to see at the convention and some of the premieres happening this weekend are going to be epic.
If you guys are interested in Anime NYC tickets are still on sale for this weekend and if you subscribe to Crunchy Roll you’ll get a $10 discount off your ticket. As of right now, only Friday and Sunday passes are still available either day is still worth checking out Anime NYC.
In case you missed it:
Over the years the anime opening and closing theme songs have changed. When I heard some of the songs, I had a complete flashback to my childhood. Some series changed their lyrics completely and others used a translated version of the song.
Girl Power!! If you’re interested in watching an anime about a girl kicking ass, this is for you. Hinako is a pretty Yankee- no other way to put it. She really does fight like a man, her skills are undeniable. She is like the female Bruce Lee. I admire her strength, determination and willingness to prove that she is strong.
If you wanna see an anime with a little diva who can destroy an army on her own, this is the anime for you. Saga of Tanya the Evil, also known as Yojo Senki 幼女戦記 written by Carlo Zen with the illustrations was done by Shinobu Shinotsuki. This anime is a psychological thriller with a main character who challenges religious beliefs.
