I attended my first anime convention back in 2007 with my younger cousin and Drey.   Since then I’ve attended, two cons per year for the past 11 years up until last year when the number increased quite rapidly in our pursuit to build SDE. Over the years, I watched the convention circuit change in many ways and for those of you who are apprehensive about attending your first con (for whatever reason).

Latin Nerd Cosplayer: Cosplay Made me a Better Person

Luis Solivan, a.k.a the Latin Nerd Cosplayer is a 30-year-old man from Queens New York.  Born and raised in New York City, Louie embraced much of what the city has to offer. A huge nerd in his own right. Louie expresses himself in many different ways through music, photography and his cosplay.

AnimeNEXT 2018: Diversity in Anime/Manga Panel

As the AnimeNEXT festivities continued on we took a break and sat in this Diversity panel hosted by The Panel Sisters. There were so many panels on diversity at this con this year I was so proud to see everyone get to express themselves and find others that identify with them. Diversity is necessary in all sorts of media and I’m excited to see what creators of new anime and manga will come up with after seeing fans call for more diversity.
