With all the excitement surrounding Black Panther which is debuting in theaters this weekend, it feels like we’ve been waiting forever for a black superhero movie. Now that it’s finally happening especially during black history month I don’t know if next year can top it. Black people as a whole have been lighting up social media about Black Panther since his MCU appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Twitter has started a storm and were all here for it, This is the week the hashtag #BlackPantherweek and #BlackPanthersolit is really active and people are out here living their best life waiting for the weekend. Black Panther: The Album

We’ve been blessed again with another gift and that is The Black Panther Album. The album had high anticipation since it was announced that Kendrick Lamar was producing it with Anthony Tiffith. I have to say this album really did meet expectations after listening to it a few times. With the growing momentum around the Black Panther movie, I’m pretty sure there is going to be negative reactions towards this album because of the artists on the album but overall it turned out better than I expected it to. The album has great replay value and introduced me to a few new artists I’ve never heard before. Continue reading

The Ancient Magus Bride

This is so far my favorite anime of the year. This anime made me cry and smile at the same time. I feel so emotional for the main character, Chise Hatori. This anime will always keep your emotions in check. This is a great love story, if you haven’t been watching it already.

Annoying Anime Tropes

As an anime fan, you learn to speak the language. And recognizing inconsistencies and common tropes is all part of the journey. After being suggested by a friend, I decided to dive a bit deeper into my expertise and discuss tropes that I can’t stand.

A few months back, I published a post titled: Favorite Anime Directors.   This list consisted of famed animation directors.  As a follow-up, I compiled a list of my Favorite Anime Movies.  These films are in no particular order because Top 5 or 10 for anything is too hard to narrow down, I just refuse to do that to myself.

The CW Premiere of Black Lighting

Finally, we get to see another black superhero come off the pages. Black Lighting is the latest DC superhero to bless the TV waves, even though there has been little to no promo of the premiere of this show on The CW the internet will not let you forget that there’s another black superhero we need to support. I haven’t seen much of any promo for this series until about last week on my way home I noticed a Subway advertisement finally showing Black Lighting. If you’re new to Black Lighting don’t feel bad about it because I discovered Black Lightning about 3 years ago while looking for more black superheroes, I’m happy to see this character come to life because when I found him I then started reading up on comics he appeared in and started falling in love with the backstory since it’s really relatable to the average city life minus the superpowers.

Happy New Year!

Last year, I compiled a list of my favorite K-Pop (Korean Pop) songs from that year. This year, I decided to do something little bit different, and focus on the little guy. Seeing how this is my first post of the New Year, I wanted to make it count. So it was very important that it felt authentic. These songs were all chosen based on feeling. And how often I went back to play then after my initial excitement was gone.

Fabolous has always been one of my favorite rappers since he appeared on my radar in the early 2000’s. His witty and charismatic rhymes provided an entertaining listening experience. And while, this particular post isn’t about his music but how can we really pay proper homage without at least acknowledging the artistry. Fab is also known for his fashion sense. Each fit has its own flair and story to go with it.  While I am not the most fashion conscious person, this is exactly why we’re here. To talk about nerdy influenced fashion and why Fab is Hip Hop’s Greatest Cosplayer.
