the Blackfinity Gauntlet Podcasting Summit spanned over two days of the con. The Expo was hosted in The Bourbon Room, formerly known as the House of Blues which is located on the Second Floor of The Showboat Hotel. The House of Blues is an iconic venue, so being able to take in an event in such a historical place made it that much more memorable and the energy was definitely in the air.
This past weekend we were able to do press coverage for J1-Con in Atlantic City, NJ. The con was held at the Showboat Hotel which had more than enough space, this was my first time at the Showboat, J1-Con and I was blown away at how big this hotel was and seeing the usage of the venue space. The Bourbon Room was nothing but amazing it blew my mind learning about the history involving past performances as well as the J1-Con events held there.
This weekend was J1-Con at The Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. We had a blast we got to see some familiar faces as well as meet new people. We have so much to work on and push out for the press coverage of this event. This was our first time at J1-Con and our first experience was great and the venue was so big it was the perfect size for a con. There is so much dedication and hard work put into this Con by the founder Jason Richardson.
This weekend will be filled with a lot of cosplay and many popular cosplayers will be attending J1-Con. I’m excited to take pictures of everyone cosplaying, It’s amazing to see how their hard work pays off thru their cosplay.
Each con I go to cosplay is always my favorite part because there is no limit to their creativity, it’s just taken to the next level. I hope I can catch up with some of these cosplayers over the weekend and waiting to see who they choose to cosplay as this weekend is probably the most exciting for me since they have amazing photos on their sites. This weekend at J1-Con we will be hitting the music fest on Saturday to see the 4 music performances lined up. The acts set to perform are Sys2matik Ovrl0ad, Andrea M, Rachael Rota and Reef of Law 27. I’ve never heard any of their music prior to writing this post and I have to say it is a mixed bunch and it’s a mix of music that everyone can enjoy. The performances will be held in The Bourbon Room in The ShowBoat Hotel in Atlantic City, this will be my first time at the ShowBoat hotel and The Bourbon Room and the setup with the seats and stage looks amazing. This venue is attached to the hotel which is a bonus and just from looking at the photo it looks like music sounds great in here, I’m excited to see everyone perform at this venue.
This weekend we will be attending J1-Con in Atlantic City, New Jersey. J1-Con is an Anime and Gaming Expo which includes a Music Festival and other entertainment. This will be our first time attending J1-Con and we’ll be there all three days, if you are planning on attending let us know.
This year I went into a panel that discussed the different Japanese styles that we can also see in the anime shows that we watch or, what people actually wear in Japan. It was reiterated that these styles are not to be confused with cosplay. The panel was moderated by Creep-P. It was a very interesting and educational panel. Many people confuse some of the styles with cosplay. There are several different style trends in Japan such as Dekora, Gyaru, Shironuri, Mori, Ishokuada, Visual Kei, Lolita, Manhera, and many more. Each style has its own uniqueness. The styles were created to break the social norm and allow people to be more free to express themselves.
