Last weekend was LCAC 2018 and it was a blast! This year we’ve met some new people as well as seeing some new musicians perform. We were given the opportunity to do press coverage again this year and with that, we have a lot of footage and photos to sort through. This year LCAC, in my opinion, was a little lacking compared to the year before. Yes, the con was fun but it didn’t live up to being better than the year before. I really hope LCAC 2019 will pick up the ball next year and be an even better con than this year.
This was my first year at BOOKCON. I thought at first it was going to be boring and that there would only book signings but I was wrong, BOOKCON was really interesting. I turned out to be something I did not expect. I never really thought of the process people put into books. I had the opportunity to meet some really good authors and learned about their stories. It was interesting to see how people can turn their fantasy into a reality through a story.
Youtuber Destorm Powers hosted the Watch Me contest a few years back. This is where I first encountered Kyd Wahlee formerly known as Stamina. I remember being thoroughly impressed by his entry, enough so to look further into his music And here we are years later, under different circumstances.
In Fall 2012, I started my studies at the Institute of Audio Research. With the intentions of pursuing my dream of working in the voice over world. I didn’t realize it at the time but learned so much. And this is were I met Marcus Ariah.(we were classmates)
When the opportunity surfaced to share music; I was thoroughly impressed. And not because I doubted his ability but because of the emotion; so very soulful. So very real. Ladies and Gents, I give you Marcus Ariah.
The song of the day is Miss Janelle Monáe herself featuring Jidenna. I’ve been addicted to this song for weeks now it’s an upbeat song and it’s fun to dance to.
It’s a different side to Janelle than we’re usually seeing and i love it she’s always been about self expression and now she showing us a side she wants to express and she’s getting some backlash for doing so from HER fans. The people that supported her through the years and get mad when she wants to do something different.
Anyway enjoy the song and remember to support the artist that you love Jidenna has a lot of potential ad so does the whole Wondaland gang.
