Yaku a.k.a Yakuyabai is Youtuber Entertainer from Houston Texas. Currently, living in San Francisco California in pursuit of her dreams. The Yakuyabai Channel is a hub for culture, comedy and overall randomness. After coming across his channel randomly, earlier this year. I really wanted to pick his brain.
Love & Life, The Album, was released both physically and digitally in February 2012. Korean RapperDok2, in this project, showed a different side of himself. His Moniker which is now Young King Young Boss, came into fruition releasing his first solo album under Illionaire Records.
2016 has come to a close. I decided that I would try something a little different or rather something I haven’t done in a while. I complied a list of my favorite South Korean Pop songs of the year. In no specific order.
SISTAR is a group that has been in K-pop scene for quite a while now. And while, I haven’t been fully converted into their fandom, I’ve come to respect to their hustle. This is an indutry that makes an breaks artist as quickly as they concoct them. The ladies in SISTAR have managed to establish themselves as a premier collective. I as a non fan, walked into this music video with that very mind-set.
I’ve been a K-Music fan for almost a decade now. And thru all the ups and downs, Nay Sayers and overall ignorance surrounding this fandom. The music is what has keep me grounded. And as cliché as this may seem, K-pop has changed my life. Garnering enough respect to with stand a lot of be bs that comes with the territory. And here we are at another cross roads.
American born South Korean breed Emcee/ Singer Songwriter Tasha (Yoonmirae) was one of many artist I was first introduced to in my beginning journeys of the K-Music world. After watching her and hearing Black Happiness 검은 행복 for the first time I was instantly hooked. Everything about this particular medium was powerful. It resonated with me in a way that no other song ever has. And I don’t even know the language. My attached in my first encounter was souly off feeling and visuals. Back then, you have to actually search for translated lyrics. After reading those, I got a general of what I already was able to put together. Self love is key. Especially in these times, it speaks more loudly then before. That’s a story for another times. I shared this to say, I walked into this new mv ecstatic. The Feel Ghood Music Camp never fails to delivery. So let’s get into it. Continue reading →
Today makes a week since the 1llionaire No Re$t Concert in New York City. And I am still floating on Cloud 9. I’ve been a fan of Dok2 since first hearing his THUNDERGROUND EP back in 09. And As for The Quiett, I’ve been a fan for 5 going on 6 years now. So I’m fairly familiar with their catalog. This was also my second time seeing them live. But this time around was definitely 1LLI.
My first encounter with K-pop was back in the early 90′s. Courtesy of Seo Taiji and The Boys ; Nan Arayo (I know). Due to the fact that I was a young lass at the time, my path into the Kpop realm wouldn’t come to years later. When I was introduced to BoA during her invasion into the Japanese market; back in 2003. But I didn’t officially become a full fledged K music fan until 2007.
Just released an hour ago and I’m happy to see it I was on the right track with the last post RIGHT HERE when the teaser videos came out. If you turn on the Closed Captions of the video. Cheetah came strong for her new song. It starts with her not liking their attitude to them switching their attitude and eventually getting her number. Cheetah don’t take no disrespect and that’s how it’s suppose to be!
The video itself is dark and sexual I am here for this! The concept is fun to watch. Cheetah style in this video is sexy I loved the blonde wig and how she slayed every look she had. Nothing really turned me off about the video. The song is so catchy and I look forward to giving Cheetah all my monies for when I purchase this song and future music.
