I went to a panel at Liberty City Anime Convention, where they discussed anime series from the 1980’s. I thought that this was going to be an interesting panel and it was. The panelist, John Medero, mainly talked about series from the year 1987 which was a big year in anime history. Some really great series came out that year but, he also discussed other popular anime series from the late and early 1980’s and where are they now 30 years later. It made me think of how anime has changed over the years.
Professor Shyguy is well known for his 8 bit- music, soulful, electro-rocking, theatrical nerd pop music. Most of his songs stem from video games, anime, and time and space. I missed the concert last year and was able to see his performance this year. I came in thier not knowing what type of music I was going to listen to. I thought it was another rock concert but I was wrong. Professor Shyguy really surprised me, he was really good.
Soulcial Dreamin’ Entertainment was invited to attend Liberty City Anime Convention in New York at the Marriott Marquis hotel. The hosting space was so much bigger this year compared to last. They even extended it to another site, the Edison Ballroom, where the main events (Masquerade) and the concerts were held. At night they hosted anime dance parties headed by Rabbit Revolution. This year the convention had plenty of panels, video games, voice actors, concerts and anime screenings. We were able to get an insider’s view of the convention while having a great time.
