Last week was SummerStage’s last free concert. The Summerstage concert series is sponsored by Capital One Bank. The headliners this year was DNCE with B.o.B as the opening act and Questlove as a special guest, this was a weird combination of artists this year. Last year was Janelle Monae and Fun. who complemented each other because it was the same energy throughout the concert.
The J-MUSIC Ensemble is an 8 piece band consisting of drums, keyboard, bass, guitar and a horn section with two trumpets, a trombone, and saxophone. Best described through their slogan: Jazz meets J-Pop. Which essentially, is what they do. Think-polished Jazz musicians, tackling Japanese Popular Music with the horns taking the fore front, at times standing in as substitution for the human voice. Though at times, the human voice is still included because there is nothing quite like it. Overall, bringing a new perspective to the world of Japanese Music.
We’re back from our long weekend at Liberty City Anime Con in Times Square. It was so much fun this year around that we got to actually go to more events and panels this time. We have a lot to put up this week so look out for our new posts, videos and photos from this past weekend. This year was much better than last and I’m happy to see LCAC stepping up their game this time.
Next year dates are already set for August 17 – 19, 2018. The live concerts this year were just as great as they were the year before, hopefully a new lineup of events so we can get more variety at this con next time around.
Once again we will have new content coming this week and we’ll be sure to let you guys know. Thank You for supporting us and helping us get this far.
Dream Fearlessly, Live Extraordinary
Here’s a few post from last years Liberty City Anime Con:
This weekend August 18th – 20th is Liberty City Anime Con 2017. Third year running as New York City’s largest anime convention located in the heart of NYC Times Square Marriott Hotel. Last year we attended LCAC 2016 for the first time and it did have its ups and downs but it was a really fun experience with meeting new people and the awesome dealers selling their merchandise.
Last year all we really did was attend the concerts because most of the panels we wanted to check out were cancelled or no shows, hopefully with this years full schedule there will be less cancellations. We were fortunate enough to interview Patrick Bartley Jr. from J-MUSIC Ensemble. Hopefully this year we can get a few more interviews and more content since this year should be bigger and better than last.
We have our passes and hope you and your friends got yours if not you can purchase your tickets here. For those who already purchased their tickets remember badge pickup starts at 10AM on Friday and Thursday 5PM – 7PM for those who did early registration. We look forward to meeting some of you that are going to be at Liberty City Anime Con just let us know on our twitter if you want to meet up with us.

After long and exciting weekend. Drey and I, got access to the CAPCOM LIVE! concert. This was my first encounter with CAPCOM LIVE!, to be honest, I didn’t know what to expect but as a CAPCOM fan, I was curious. I grew up on Super Fighter. And Resident Evil, is hands down on of my favorite game franchises. Add in Mega Man and Devil May Cry, taking all into account. And I’m a happy camper. Naturally, the music has been with me just as long.
So let’s get right into it.
We want to wish you all a Happy New Year! We can’t even put into words how much your support means to us and how we have really pushed through the horror of 2016 together. We really want to thank all you from the bottom of our hearts for keeping us going on this vision we have, seeing people take interest in what we do makes us keep fighting to make this dream of our come true. The opportunity surfaced to attend a SummerStage concert sponsored by Capital One. For this particular concert. The headliner was six time Grammy award nominated artist Janelle Monae. With singer songwriter Nate Ruess as the opening act. The transition between the two acts was headed by DJ Moma.
Back in August We attended the Liberty City Anime Convention. This was were I learned about J-MUSIC Ensemble. The Team and I sat in on a performance and I was utterly blown away. Luckily I was able to catch up with Grammy nominated Saxophonist and Leader of the collective Patrick Bartley Jr.
Here is what he had to say.
The concert was on September 25th and the whole SDE team went to this concert. Now I’m a big fan of 90s music that’s what they gave us brought back all the good music for about 2 hours. Puff daddy and the family has one of the best lineup of artists. The special guest that pop in on the concert was Shyne and DMX now I have seen fans post videos of the previous concert even my co-worker went to a concert and saw more than just DMX and Shyne. I was expecting a few of the features they had over the years come out but that wasn’t the case. Continue reading
