LeSean Thomas Panel at Anime NYC

It’s been a week since Anime NYC ended, as you can see, I am a little bit behind schedule in terms of my Con related posts.  I just started a new job, and I’m starting to re-adjust to the workload.  But the rest of my posts will drop this week. So be on the lookout.

Anime of the 1980’s – The Year 1987: Panel

Image result for anime of the 1980sI went to a panel at Liberty City Anime Convention, where they discussed anime series from the 1980’s. I thought that this was going to be an interesting panel and it was. The panelist, John Medero, mainly talked about series from the year 1987 which was a big year in anime history.  Some really great series came out that year but, he also discussed other popular anime series from the late and early 1980’s and where are they now 30 years later. It made me think of how anime has changed over the years.

Over the years the anime opening and closing theme songs have changed. When I heard some of the songs, I had a complete flashback to my childhood. Some series changed their lyrics completely and others used a translated version of the song.

Soulcial Dreamin’ Entertainment was invited to attend Liberty City Anime Convention in New York at the Marriott Marquis hotel.  The hosting space was so much bigger this year compared to last. They even extended it to another site, the Edison Ballroom, where the main events (Masquerade)  and the concerts were held. At night they hosted anime dance parties headed by Rabbit Revolution. Bad Anime, Bad!! Panel

This is post is a collaboration between Alice and Myself on the Bad Anime, Bad!! panel at the AnimeNEXT Convention.

It’s been a few years since we’ve seen a Bad Anime, Bad!! panel at AnimeNEXT seeing the panel still thriving after all this time and each year continuing to come with all of the bad anime there is out in the world makes each year funnier. There are several different types of anime series some are good but, some are just bad. The panel we went to showed nothing but, bad animated series that some may have seen growing up that are recommended for children to watch at a young age but in reality children should not see. This year’s theme was Bad Retro Anime. The clips that were shown were from movies from the 1970’s during the disco era.

After a long day of running around, Drey and I took a small break in the Manga library.  Like the idiot I am, I started reading volume one Uzumaki うずまき by Junji Ito. Homie is twisted but that’s a topic for another day.  The library closes, now my mind fuckery level is at an all-time high. I was so confused.   That confusion only heightened.

I was not ready.

Final Fantasy: Love It or Hate It, They Still Have Your $$$ (Panel)

FF_1_PSP

I went to the Final Fantasy: Love It or Hate It, They Still Have Your $$$ panel hosted by DJ Date Masamune, unfortunately, I can relate very well. I am one of those people who spend all their money on Final Fantasy games and regret it later. I have played countless Final Fantasy games, I keep going back regardless if the last ending was good or bad.
