This is the first Soulcial Sunday of 2019. We have been super busy putting together a lot of projects we want to come out this year. This year is going to be bigger than last for us and it’s going to be very special for us as well. Firstly let’s say our late Happy New Year wishes and Happy Black History Month and Hopefully, everyone’s Valentines Day was a good one.
A big Thank You to everyone that supports our content!
We want to take the time out to wish everyone a Happy Holidays for this month and a few upcoming holidays people celebrate. Continue reading
It’s already the end of the year and 2018 took a little longer to end. This is also the time of year everything is hectic for everyone with holidays, work and just life in general. We want to wish all of you a Happy Holidays for the many we celebrate this month. Continue reading
We’re right at the tip of the new year! 2019 is literally a little over a month away and the giving season is in full effect. November celebrates our 3rd year on WordPress, it seems like so long ago we started this blog. We’re many years into SDE but our online presence is 3 years strong and we can only go harder. Last weekend was NYCC and AFNYCC (Anime Fest), So that’s 2 cons in one weekend and Alice was the braveheart to go to both from Thursday – Sunday. New York Comic Con wanted to bring back Anime Fest and they did. Lizzo and I only did 1 day at NYCC, we didn’t want to go for an extra day because we both felt like NYCC was becoming too commercial. We usually don’t always agree but that was one that we did and all three of us might not go to NYCC next year because it’s too expensive to buy single passes!
Alice has a few posts about NYCC and AFNYCC coming out this week, it felt like we took a week off last week but work and other things caught up with us because we’ve been putting in so much work with SDE other parts of our lives were getting jealous lol. We enjoy going to conventions to see and meet new people as well as hang with friends but NYCC will most likely not be on our list of cons next year because we do miss the weekend bundle pass and it’s much cheaper to hit the other cons that are just as fun.
Our next convention will be Anime NYC and we’ll be doing press coverage there and we’re super excited about it. Hopefully, Anime NYC fixed their security issues from last year but regardless I will be carrying a smaller camera bag just in case they haven’t. If you don’t remember last years’ Anime NYC or didn’t get the chance to go here’s last year’s Anime NYC Overview.
This is week 13 of our Spotify Playlist and as usual, we hope to be your music plug and introduce you to new artists and new favorite songs.
WHEW! It’s been a busy couple of weeks for us but we made it through and got our content out and now we’re going to start up early for our press coverage of AnimeNYC in November. This will be the last con of the year for us and we’ll start gearing up for 2019. Continue reading
This weekend was J1-Con at The Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. We had a blast we got to see some familiar faces as well as meet new people. We have so much to work on and push out for the press coverage of this event. This was our first time at J1-Con and our first experience was great and the venue was so big it was the perfect size for a con. There is so much dedication and hard work put into this Con by the founder Jason Richardson.
Liberty City Anime Convenion was last weekend and we had the opportunity to do press coverage for the con and it was fun. There was a few places the event was lacking but nothing they can’t improve next time around. We were already prepared to take on the workload and get into crunch mode to push everything out as fast as we can.
This week will be posts for our press coverage of LCAC 2018 and we’re pushing out videos on our YouTube pretty soon and we’re trying to make more content on short notice but our quality is important so that is what’s always holding us back. We have to make time for what we want and we want to be active on YouTube and with all the hard work it takes to stay up with a YouTube Channel we’ve been trying and failing but we’ll keep trying until we get into our groove.
One thing we all need to rememeber is that failures come before success and as we’ve been trying to create a viable media company that can thrive in this and future economy. It’s more work we’ve been prepared for because we know how much goes into starting a business and building a company and brand. We have so much going on that it’s overwhelming and exciting at the same time to be so busy yet so frustrating since our outcome is moving slower than we want. We worked hard for this to even think about giving it up and I hope that gave you a little inspiration to keep pushing through and find that motivation and time to create your dreams and live the best life you can.
Week 10 Spotify Playlist
This week we have another playlist full of our faves and it’s one hell of a mix from K-pop to Hip-Hop. Enjoy 🙂
This weekend in NYC Liberty City Anime Convention will be taking place in Times Square and it will be jammed packed with tourists, new yorkers, and my personal favorite cosplayers. As we set into the weekend this week we have posts lined up for our press coverage of LCAC. The team has been preparing and working hard deciding on what to cover and the heat and possible thunderstorms happening this weekend. LCAC will be held in the Marriott Marquis Times Square same hotel as last year and I’m going to assume the main events will be held in the Edison Ballroom as last year since everything worked out perfectly space wise.
This past weekend we visited Castle Point Anime Convention for the first time in years and they have really come a long way from being on a college campus to an expo center. We posted what we had on out Instagram and other social media accounts so check it out. In a week we’ll be at AnimeNEXT and we’re super excited it was so much fun last year so we have high expectations for this year. I believe the most exciting thing about this con is all the events happening and all the elbow room that The Atlantic City Convention Center offers is what other cons dream of!
