#31daysofWomeninMedia – Day 17

Shuri is another character that I loved in Black Panther comics and The Marvel movie. Letitia Wright did this character justice, Shuri is my favorite because of her personality and how she’s kept the sibling relationship strong and fun with T’Challa. Their relationship aspect is so beautiful in the movie that I really applaud Shuri for keeping up her adorable personality after losing her father.

#31DaysofWomeninMedia Day 14

The one and only Danai Gurira play as Okoye in Black Panther, This will be about Okoye as much as possible because of the love I have for the character before the movie. Danai’s performance was so amazing bringing Okoye to life that at this point I don’t think I’ll ever become tired of seeing her beautiful face everywhere. Continue reading

Viola Davis

Viola Davis for Porter Edit Magazine

Viola Davis has always been an inspiration to me and nothing short of amazing. Viola is a successful woman in the entertainment world, her acting has been some of the most incredible performances we’ve seen in some time and she’s vocal in her activism about equal pay and women’s rights which made me put her on a pedestal I can’t seem to take her off of.

#31DaysofWomeninMedia: Day 9

My day 9 nomination goes to Michiko Malandro of Michiko & Hatchin.  Michiko is not by any means a tradition pick. If anything, she’s the polar opposite of what most would like to highlight.  She’s a criminal with a serious rap sheet. Violent. Foul-mouthed. Miss Malandro is literally a walking stereotype for Black and Latina women.  So why her?  Continue reading

31DaysofwomeninMedia – Day 7

For my third women who inspires me everyone knows her as the woman with the red hair Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail. Ezra is one of the bravest and strongest women of her guild a noteworthy character. Ezra is an S-Class mage and the most powerful woman with no one yet to match her not even a clone of herself. She is part of Team Natsu. Her special ability is reequipped magic. She changes her armor and each armor gives her a different ability for example speed or lighting magic. Continue reading

#31DaysofWomeninMedia: Day 3

My first pick for this Women in Media Challenge is Lucrezia Noin of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.  Noin was one of first  characters in animation I felt I could relate too.  She was young, intelligent and well-respected.  And even though she was a girl she could run with the boys and in more cases than not outdue them.  At the time this was somewhat rare, especially for a supporting cast member who we rarely see.

#31DaysofWomeninMedia – Day 1: Chise Hatori

The first person I would pick that would inspire many through her struggle is Chise Hatori from the anime Ancient Magus Bride. This anime as I mentioned in this previous post The Ancient Magus Bride is extremely emotional. Chise inspires many through her vigorous and heroic actions.
