You’ve probably noticed this by now but I have a huge Marvel bias.  Drey more of a DC girl and Alice has more of anime bias.  So because of this, I tried really hard to balance out my choices but to be honest. I don’t think I really did.

But today nomination goes out to America Chavez a.k.a Miss America. The first Latin American from the LGBT community to headline her own Comic. Continue reading

Vixen

Vixen is one of my favorite DC Superheroines in the DCU, I really love her powers. Being able to embody the strength and abilities of an animal is one of the most underrated powers. Vixen gets her powers from The Tantu Totem, A fox-shaped talisman created by the African trickster god Anansi the spider. Vixen the first African Female DC superhero back in 1978 to get her own comic series but it was sadly canceled before release but even though Vixen never got the chance to shine in her own series until Vixen: Return of the Lion in 2008. 31daysofwomeninmedia – Day 22

The next person I chose was Morgiana from the anime series Magi. She was a slave to Jamil and had no choice but fight for him. When she came across Aladdin and Alibaba Saluja they both freed Morgiana allowing her to follow her own path which was to return to her homeland. She is a strong fighter even with shackles on nothing can stop her. Continue reading

Nakia

Continuing the Black Panther trend with Nakia played by Lupita N’yongo. Nakia in the Black Panther movie is the love interest of T’Challa/Black Panther/King of Wakanda, I was extremely excited to see that Nakia was cast as a Dark Skin Black women (you know how Hollywood works) and it felt so good to finally see a positive image of dark skin Black Women for a change that I still can’t contain my joy. #31DaysofWomeninMedia – Day 19

The next person I chose is Bulma from Dragon Ball Z. She is a brilliant scientist and a wonderful mother. She is the second daughter of Dr.Brief and his wife Panchy. She works with her father at his company Capsule Corporation. Bulma is Goku’s first friend and tighter they went on many adventures in Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball AF series. No matter the universe Bulma is always the same. Bulma managed the impossible and became the wife of Vegeta and became the mother of Trunks and Bulla. Even though she can’t fight she does her best to help out. Continue reading
