Anime NYC 2018: LGBTQ+ Representation in Anime Panel

The past few years a lot of conventions we’ve been to have been very inclusive when it came to LGBT representation. HIDIVE hosted this panel, one of many on Friday night at Anime NYC. AnimeNEXT 2018: Diversity in Anime/Manga Panel

As the AnimeNEXT festivities continued on we took a break and sat in this Diversity panel hosted by The Panel Sisters. There were so many panels on diversity at this con this year I was so proud to see everyone get to express themselves and find others that identify with them. Diversity is necessary in all sorts of media and I’m excited to see what creators of new anime and manga will come up with after seeing fans call for more diversity.

Behind the Scenes of Yuri On Ice with MAPPA Panel at AnimeNEXT 2017

I was so excited to sit in on this panel and learn about the making of Yuri On Ice. I had no idea how deep the creative process was. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. From the tiniest details like the casts clothing to the colors that are used within the background design. There are also several props used in the designing of all the characters clothes and skates. Examples of props that were used are skates, food, and skaters clothing.

Yuri On Ice

I finally got to watch the famous and most talked about show Yuri On Ice. I really enjoyed this anime. This anime really gave me a idea about the world of Ice Skating. I was not really interested in ice skating  until I saw this anime which is interesting for me. I only learned about Ice Skating by watching this anime. I really enjoyed watching them perform and tell a story though their performance on stage. I really got an inside of what the Ice Skating world was like.
